BELOW COUNT ---- THE MEDICALLY DESTITUTE AMONG US Many people are slum dwellers or homeless in Delhi. Several of them are weak or sick. Their earnings are uncertain on any given day. Particularly vulnerable are the children. Hundreds lose their jhuggis to make space for construction projects. Their numbers swell when more migrants arrive in search of jobs. They contribute to Delhi's life and development with their labour. But it is not easy for them to go to a doctor when unwell. Poor health shoves them into deeper distress. Covid also made things more difficult. Poverty is a cough that can go away. We can together make it go away.
